Dr. Thuc Hue Ly (李淑惠) earned her B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, Vietnam National University (VNU), in 2010, where she developed a strong passion for inorganic chemistry. She subsequently moved to Korea and obtained her Ph.D. in Energy Science from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) in 2015, under the supervision of Prof. Young Hee Lee, with a focus on 2D materials. From 2015 to 2017, she served as a research fellow at the Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics, Institute for Basic Science. In August 2017, she joined City University of Hong Kong. In 2022, she received the NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Award and was elected as an IAAM Fellow, also receiving the IAAM Scientist Medal in 2024. Her team has garnered several awards at international exhibitions, including ICAN 2023, ICAN 2024, and the 49th IEIG, etc.
