Biography

Shiqi Wang is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong (CityU) since May 2017. Before joining CityU, he had postdoctoral research trainings at the University of Waterloo, Canada and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He received the B.Eng. (2008) degree from Harbin Institute of Technology and the Ph.D. degree (2014) from Peking University. He was an intern at Microsoft Research Asia in 2011. His primary research interests fall in the fields of image/video coding, processing, analysis and quality assessment. He has authored and co-authored over 40 prestigious journal papers and 60 international conference papers. He has also proposed over 30 technical proposals to ISO/MPEG, ITU-T and AVS standards.
