Biography
Dr Qian-Cheng Wang joined City University of Hong Kong (CityU) in 2025 under the Presidential Assistant Professors Scheme. He holds a PhD in Land Economy and an MPhil in Architecture and Urban Studies from the University of Cambridge, as well as a First-Class Honours BSc in Building Engineering and Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Dr Wang is the founder and director of the Systematic Urban Management (SUM) Laboratory at CityU. His research leverages digital twin technologies to enhance decision-making in smart cities, with a particular focus on dynamic urban environmental and health modelling. His team also explores human-centred approaches to integrating heterogeneous data, aiming to advance sustainable urban and regional development.
In addition to his research, Dr Wang is actively engaged in academic service. He currently serves as Associate Programme Leader of the BSc (Architecture and Surveying) at CityU and is an Associate Editor for Environment and Behavior and Computational Urban Science. He also serves on the committees of several international conferences, including ICCREM and DigiTwin, and reviews for over 30 leading international journals.
