Biography
Dr. Qinrong Zhang received her Bachelor’s degree in Physics from both the University of Waterloo and Beijing Jiaotong University and obtained her Ph.D. degree in Physics from the University of Waterloo. She then joined the University of California, Berkeley, as a postdoctoral fellow, working in the Departments of Physics & of Molecular and Cell Biology. Since August 2023, she has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. Dr. Zhang’s primary research focus is on developing cutting-edge microscopy technologies for biological studies, particularly in vivo imaging of the mouse brain and eye.
Research Interests/Areas
The Zhang lab develops advanced optical microscopy technologies for bioimaging. Integrating ideas from astronomy, optics, and computation, we aim to address critical challenges in in vivo imaging of the mouse brain and eye. The Zhang lab is also interested in applying optical imaging approaches to understand brain and eye pathologies and pharmacology.
