Biography

Dr. Pingan Zhu received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 2017 and Bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2013. Dr. Zhu is currently an Assistant Professor and leads the Non-Equilibrium Science & Technology (NEST) Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. The NEST Lab will focus on the study of systems and phenomena out of equilibrium, especially those in the field of interfacial fluid mechanics. NEST is keen on exploring fundamental sciences, answering burning questions, as well as developing advanced technologies to address key issues in interdisciplinary fields.

We are looking for highly motivated students to join us. Applicants with research backgrounds in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, applied physics, micro/nanofabrication, chemical engineering, soft matter, and surface/interface science and engineering are preferred; students with backgrounds in other fields are also encouraged to apply. English Proficiency Requirements

 

Toefl score of 79 or above, or IELTS score of 6.5 or above, or CET-6 score of 490 or above.

Stipend

 

The current studentship rate is HK$17,510 per month. Please refer to the link for more details.
