Dr. Peng Yin is an accomplished researcher and assistant professor at City University of Hong Kong, with a distinguished background in robotics and autonomous systems. He earned his Ph.D. from the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and has held notable positions including Project Scientist at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and Senior Advisor for NASA's Mars Landing Project.

MetaSLAM Project

From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Yin's research significantly impacted the autonomous driving industry, with collaborations on unmanned mining, urban crowdsourced mapping, and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) systems with leading Chinese companies. GAIRLAB Leadership
Since 2023, Dr. Yin has been leading the GAIRLAB (General Autonomous Intelligent Robotics Laboratory) at City University of Hong Kong.
