Biography
Paweł received his DVM from Lublin University of Life Sciences, Poland in 2008. He also holds a Wellcome Trust funded PhD from the University of Glasgow. His research has focused on virus evolution in the progression of natural feline immunodeficiency virus infection. Paweł has completed a clinical rotating internship at the Animal Health Trust and a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Glasgow. He is European and Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
Dr Bęczkowski gained his research, clinical and teaching experience around the world and he always cherished the international collaborations in science and education.
Research Interests/Areas
Dr Bęczkowski has a broad interest in companion animal virology, virus discovery, and cross-species transmission and is excited about infectious diseases research opportunities in Hong Kong. His particular interest lies in the evolution of virus-host interactions with a view to pair it with clinical applications for the diagnosis, preventive strategies and treatment of viral diseases.
