Biography
Michael Just is an interdisciplinary artist based in Berlin, Germany, southeast Austria and Hong Kong. He studied Fine Art at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Daniel Buren (Master/Meisterschüler 2007), received an MFA in Art Practice from Goldsmiths, University of London, UK (2009) and participated in the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program in New York City, USA (2010/2011). He is currently pursuing a PhD at the City University of Hong Kong, School of Creative Media. In 2024, he is a visiting researcher at Delft University of Technology, Department of Architecture, Ecologies of Architecture Research Group. He is furthermore a Steering Committee member at DigitalFUTURES, where he is co-organizing the Architecture & Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence series.
Michael has taught, lectured and exhibited internationally in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Teaching includes institutions such as the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Goldsmiths - University of London, Art Center College of Art and Design, the China Academy of Art, School of Design and Innovation and Hong Kong Baptist University AVA.
