Metrics for Academic and Research Impact

Prof. Michael Leung is Chair Professor of Renewable Energy, Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund Professor of Energy and Environment, and the Director of the Ability R&D Energy Research Centre in the School of Energy and Environment at the City University of Hong Kong. He served as the Associate Provost (Academic Affairs) in 2022-2024. His current research interests include solar photocatalysis, green fuel production, marine antifouling, fuel cells, and advanced refrigeration and air-conditioning. He has published 250+ journal papers, and 18 books or book chapters, and has been granted 10 patents. He is listed as the Top 2% of the world’s most highly cited scientists according to metrics compiled by Stanford University. He is also listed as The Most Cited Scholar in Energy Science and Engineering by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, in collaboration with Elsevier. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Solar Compass. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of HKIE Transactions and serves in the Editorial Board of Applied Energy. He is the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES).

Post-doctoral Fellows / Senior Research Assistants / Research Assistants in the field of Energy at the School of Energy and Environment 

• Duties
  The appointee will conduct research in at least one of the following areas: microbial fuel cell, microfluidic fuel cell, photocataylsis, carbon management, advanced refrigeration and air-conditioning.
• Requirements
  Degree holder in relevant science or engineering fields: Ph.D. degree for Post-doctoral Fellow; Bachelor's or Master's degree for Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant. Candidates with experience in theoretical modeling or experimental study are preferred.
• Salary and Conditions of Service
  Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
