Biography
Prof. Qiu obtained her M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in 2017 and 2020, respectively. She then pursued postdoctoral research at the Center for Multidimensional Carbon Materials, Institute for Basic Science, Korea (IBS-CMCM).
Prof. Qiu’s research focuses on the theoretical study of the growth mechanisms of low-dimensional materials, including graphene, carbon nanotubes, borophene, and fullerene. Her work also encompasses the chemical and physical properties of two-dimensional materials, as well as the development of methods and algorithms for materials simulation. She has authored 34 peer-reviewed papers with an H-index of 22 (Google Scholar). Her work has appeared in prestigious journals such as Nature, Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, and PRL.
