Teaching
Dr Chan is mainly involved in teaching Building Science and Building Services Engineering related courses. He had been nominated as a candidate for the College Awards on Contribution to Teaching and Learning (College of Higher Vocational Studies, CityU of HK) (1999 – 2000); and as a candidate for the Teaching Excellence Awards (City U of HK) (1999 – 2000).
Research Interests/Areas
Dr Chan has had a number of years devoted to the study of building energy analysis and conservation opportunities in Hong Kong, as a response to the Hong Kong SAR Government in promoting energy conservation in buildings.
Currently, his research work primarily focuses on two major areas with impact on public policy development.
(i) Meteorological Data Development for Building Energy Simulation
(ii) Energy-Efficient Building Design through Legislative Control
