Biography

Lishuai JIN is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining CityU, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at AMOLF in the Netherlands and the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his PhD dissertation at Tianjin University and Harvard University. His research is centered on the innovative design of intelligent metamaterials and soft robots. By harnessing the nonlinear properties of materials and structures, his team seeks to develop novel functionalities in metamaterials and robots, including advanced memory effects, physical intelligence, and the creation of autonomous robots with self-learning and self-contained capabilities.
