Title of PhD thesis
The discourses of the post-90s generation of lesbians in urban China

Short abstract of thesis
Cathay's PhD project takes a poststructuralist perspective of language and identity to investigate how particular lesbian subjectivities are constituted in the discourses of the post-90s generation of Chinese lesbians. This research orients to a complexity of queer ideologies in urban China, a place where queer global values and sociocultural imperatives coexist, and contributes further to non-western queer studies.
