Biography

Jiaze's research focuses on developing optimization models, theory, algorithms, and software to promote sustainability in the energy and chemical engineering domains. Jiaze received his PhD from University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing his PhD, Jiaze joined the Department of Systems Engineering at City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor.

I am looking for PhD students who are interested in the following topics:

    1. Bayesian Optimization for complex industrial process design.
    2. Model Predictive Control for green hydrogen systems and battery management.
    3. Distributed optimization for largescale energy storage systems.
    4. Spatial and temporal coodination between data center & power grid

Students with backgrounds in chemical engineering, automation, or industrial engineering are welcome to send me an email with their CV and transcript.

RA Openings for PSE students

We have year-round openings for fully funded research assistant positions in our group!!!
- Our group welcomes students with backgrounds in process systems engineering/energy systems engineering to join us as research assistants (RAs). We offer a competitive salary to RAs in our group. We expect students to have at least three first-authored papers in journals such as the AIChE Journal, Computers & Chemical Engineering or IEEE trans. The visiting periods are flexible, ranging from 3 months to 2 years.
