Biography
Prof. Jiarui Yang is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry of CityUHK through the GRAP Scheme. He obtained his B.E. from the College of MSE of Beihang University and PhD from the Department of Chemistry of Tsinghua University. His research interest and expertise focus on designing and constructing efficient electrochemical systems with organocatalysts, single-atom/cluster/nanoparticle catalysts, aiming to comprehend the structure-activity relationship for the electrocatalytic process. His research ranges from theoretical design to industrial application, wishing to contribute to a revolution in chemical production. He has authored >35 peer-reviewed publications in Nature, Nat. Catal., Sci. Adv., Nat. Commun., Chem, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Edit., Adv. Mater., Nano Lett., etc. He was also selected into the World's Top 2% of scientists and his researches were selected as “China's major scientific, technological and engineering breakthrough” in 2023. He also hosted the funding supported by NSFC and was awarded as 2023 NRE Young Star Research Award, 2024 Carbon Future Young Investigator Award and so on.
