Biography

Dr. Ron Chi-Wai KWOK is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems of the City University of Hong Kong (CityU), where he received his Ph.D. in Information Systems. He was an Assistant Professor in the School of Management at the State University of New York at Binghamton (US) before joining the CityU in 2002. He received the University Grants Committee (UGC) Teaching Award (Team Award) in 2017, two CityU Teaching Excellence Awards (2005-06, 2012-13), Innovative CityU-Learning Awards (2020-21) from CityU, and many other teaching awards. Also, Dr. Kwok received the Best Paper Awards in the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (2000) and Outstanding Paper Award in the ED-MEDIA World Conference on Education Multimedia, Hypermedia & Telecommunications (2007 and 2011). His current research interests include gamification, health/fitness information systems, technology-mediated learning, and online collaborative games in education. His prior research has been published in Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Association for Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Information & Management, Communications of ACM, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, European Journal of Information Systems, Computers & Education, and other journals.
