Biography
Hao Peng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science at City University of Hong Kong. He is interested in computational social science, social networks, and science of innovation. He studies human and social factors involved in the production and dissemination of creative ideas. His research aims to generate deep insights that can help organizations leverage the full potential of human capital to drive leadership and success in the innovation market. Dr. Peng's work has been published in journals such as PNAS, Science Advances, and was reported by international media outlets including The Washington Post, Le Monde, NPR, and New Scientist. His scholarship has won top awards and prizes from 2019 SciPy Conference and 2021 Annual Meeting of the Association for Information Science and Technology. Previously, Dr. Peng was a Postdoc in the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, with affiliation to the Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems. He obtained a Ph.D in Information Science from UMich.
