Prof. ZHANG Ge (張格)
PhD Princeton University, USA
BSc Univ. of Sci. and Tech. of China
- Assistant Professor, Department of Physics
Biography
Dr. Ge Zhang received his BSc. degree in Chemical Physics from University of Science and Technology of China in 2011. He then conducted research in statistical physics under the supervision of Prof. Salvatore Torquato in the Department of Chemistry, Princeton University. After he obtained his PhD degree in 2017, he did his postdoctoral research in collaboration with Prof. Andrea J. Liu in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Pennsylvania, studying disordered solids using machine learning.
Dr. Zhang joined the Physics Department at the City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor in September 2021. His research mainly focuses on the intersection of statistical physics and machine learning, for example, applying techniques developed in each field to the other. In the past several years, he has published more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals including Physical Review X, Soft Matter, and Physical Review E.
