Biography

Federica Fiacco is an architect advocating for just and low-carbon urban transitions in developing cities. She received a PhD from the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering of City University of Hong Kong, and holds a Master’s degree in Architecture (with honours) from Sapienza University of Rome.

Her research focuses on the urban transition in Sub-Saharan Africa: she explores the relation between urban imaginaries and low-carbon city densification models, drawing attention to the role that local challenges play in reimagining cities’ densification narratives.
