Dr. Franz Mang’s research interests lie mainly in social and political philosophy, ethics, and comparative political theory. He received his D.Phil. in Politics from Oxford University in 2017. He was a Swire Scholar (on a fully-funded scholarship) at St. Antony’s College of Oxford.
Dr. Mang received his B.A. in Philosophy and M.Phil. in Politics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong respectively. He has published articles in Social Theory and Practice, Dao: A Journal of Comparative Philosophy, Res Publica: A Journal of Moral, Legal, and Social Philosophy, and some other peer-reviewed journals. He believes that the freedom of thought and expression is of utmost importance for all (non-ancient) societies.
