Biography

Dr. Wong joined the City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering in 1994. He received his B.Sc. and M.Phil. degrees in electronic engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1988 and 1990 respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1994.  His current research interests are in the analysis and design of telecommunications networks, optical burst switching, and video-on-demand. His most notable research work involved the first workable model on state dependent dynamic routing. Since 1991, the model has been used by AT&T to design and dimension its telephone network that uses Real-Time Network Routing. The model is also referenced and adopted in the book, “Dynamic Routing in Telecommunications Networks” (McGraw-Hill).
