Biography

I'm a doctoral student interested in the interplay of politics, society and the media. I am a trained journalist with over 10 years of experience in reporting on World Affairs for TV. I am interested in contemporary East Asia (China, Japan and the Korean Peninsula), popular culture and the new media, as well as in distance learning and non-formal education. Research for my doctoral dissertation on the presence of Chinese media companies in Africa, has taken me to Nairobi (Kenya), Cape Town (South Africa) and Beijing (China), and back to Hong Kong (China).
