Biography
Dewei SHEN is Assistant Professor in the Department of Chinese and History at the City University of Hong Kong. Before joining CityU, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University. He received his PhD from Yale University, where he was also awarded the Marston Anderson Prize for Distinguished Dissertation (2021). With a broad research interest in Early China, he conducted multiple surveys of ancient city sites in the middle Yangtze River region during the past years, and participated in a series of excavations, including archaeological fieldwork at late Neolithic sites in North China and burial sites of the Xiongnu and Mongols in Eastern Mongolia.
