Graduate Student, Research Assistant, and Post-doctoral Fellow Positions Available:

The Atoms-to-Systems Lab focuses on sensors and consists of two complimentary research thrusts, materials-to-device and device-to-system. Advances in nanomaterials are demonstrated in real-world applications, whereas, system design and integration are informed by new devices. Lab members are trained in areas that are highly demanded in industry and academia (see our former members). These areas include chemical/optical/electrical sensor design, electronic circuits, semiconductor devices, for medical/environmental/industrial applications. Applicants with strong interest in electronics (ICs or systems), nanomaterials (electrical properties), and photonics (optical microsystems) are encouraged to apply.

Postdoctoral fellow (salary highly competitive) (multiple projects begin in 2016):

- Requires a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials/Chemistry, Physics, or related disciplines

- Areas of interest:

    - electronic circuits and systems

    - signal/image processing; modeling/computational techniques

    - electrical properties of semiconductors/metal-oxide materials; device fabrication (outstanding candidates only)

- Application package should be sent to <derekho{at}cityu.edu.hk>, including:

1) Cover letter, 2) Research statement, 3) CV, w/ publication list and impact factors, 4) PDFs of up to 5 publications

PhD student (observe SGS deadline, usually early December):

- Requires a master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree with first honors

- Please send the following info to <derekho{at}cityu.edu.hk>, to ensure priority reply:

2) CV with publication list, state whether they are SCI top 50%

3) English test score (minimum TOFEL = 79, or IELTS = 6.5 [CET6 = 490, still accepted but may impact chance])

4) Publication samples, 1st- or 2nd-author, in PDF format

Research assistant:
