Biography

Dr. Dengwu Jiao serves as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). In January 2021, Dr. Jiao obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Ghent University, Belgium. Currently, Dr. Jiao leads several projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Early Career Scheme (ECS) from Research Grants Council (RGC), Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF), and Shenzhen Science and Technology Program, etc. Dr. Jiao has published over 70 journal and conference papers, with 57 papers indexed by SCI/EI. Dr. Jiao edited an English book, and authored 4 chapters in 2 other books. The Google Scholar citations is over 2400 with H-index of 23. Dr. Jiao has been recognized with 2025 Gustavo Colonnetti medal (each year awarded up to two researchers worldwide under 35 years old). Dr. Jiao is a Fellow of Hong Kong Concrete Institute (HKCI), a member of several committees of RILEM (including TC ACP, TC PCC, TC PFC, and TC 266-MRP), and a member of Asian Concrete Federation (ACF), and International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM). Furthermore, Dr. Jiao serves as an Editorial Board Member of Buildings, Guest Editor of Journal of Building Design and Environment, Youth Editorial Board Member of Journal of Building Materials (EI), Chinese Journal of Engineering (EI), Journal of Intelligent Construction, Advanced Manufacturing, and Journal of Transport Science and Engineering, and he is a reviewer for about 30 international SCI journals.
 
焦登武,香港城市大学建筑学与土木工程系“预聘长聘制”助理教授,博士生导师,2025年RILEM Gustavo Colonnetti奖章获得者(全球范围内每年仅遴选两位35岁以下青年学者)。2021年获得比利时根特大学博士学位。主要研究领域包括水泥基材料的流变性、高性能混凝土和3D打印水泥基材料。主持和参与包括国家自然科学基金、香港研究资助局杰出青年学者计划、香港环境及自然保育基金、欧盟研究委员会“地平线2020”项目、香港创新科技署平台基金项目和国家国际科技合作专项等在内的十余个科研项目,共发表70余篇学术论著,包括CCR、CCC、硅酸盐学报等行业知名SCI/EI期刊论文57篇,主编英文专著1部。Google Scholar引用2400余次,单篇最高引用550余次,H指数为23。担任中国硅酸盐学会固废与生态材料分会固废生态材料外加剂学术委员会副秘书长,香港混凝土学会会士(Fellow),RILEM ACP、PCC等技术委员会委员,亚洲混凝土联合会和国际先进材料学会会员,同时也担任《建筑材料学报》(EI)、《工程科学学报》(EI)、《Journal of Intelligent Construction》和《Advanced Manufacturing》等多个学术期刊的青年编委和客座编辑以及CCR、CCC、CBM等近30种SCI期刊审稿人。

职位要求/Requirements

  1. 工程材料、力学、物理化学、计算机模拟及交叉学科专业的本科生和硕士研究生;
  2. 本科毕业于双一流高校或双一流学科,GPA>80,核心课程达到良好以上;
  3. 满足香港城市大学最低英语能力要求的雅思或托福成绩;
  4. 优先考虑特别优秀的本科生及具有一定科研成果的研究生。
  • Undergraduate and master's students in the fields of engineering materials, mechanics, physical chemistry, computer simulation, and related interdisciplinary majors.
  • Graduates from Double First-Class universities or disciplines with a GPA>85, with a good performance in core courses.
  • Meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements of the City University of Hong Kong with IELTS or TOEFL scores.
  • Preference will be given to exceptionally outstanding undergraduate students and graduate students with some research achievements.

  • Self-funded Ph.D. Students: Enrolled in September 2026, providing research subsidies based on the individual performance.
  • Full Ph.D. Scholarship (HKD 19,600/month) for regular Ph.D. students starting in September 2025. Exceptionally outstanding candidates may assist in applying for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme with a monthly salary of up to HKD 27,100, including tuition waiver and conference travel subsidies.
  • Joint Ph.D. Candidates: The university provides a graduate scholarship for students eligible for joint training programs, allowing them to simultaneously obtain a Ph.D. degree from both a mainland university and the City University of Hong Kong. Applications are accepted from October to December each year for admission in September of the following year.
