Description of impact
Prof. Tsou has continuously conducted the airborne virus research by performance simulation, especially vapor and virus transmission, and built the professional team to complete SARS transmission and production research. During the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in 2003, Prof. Tsou assisted the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in studying the impact of architectural design (e.g., Amoy Garden) on the spread of the SARS virus in the air. The report was submitted to the World Health Organisation as a supporting document to have Hong Kong removed from the list of affected areas.
