The lessons from Sora's death? (Sora之死:最烧钱的AI输给了谁)

Press/Media: Press / Media

Description

What can we learn from Sora's death? My 8th column in Financial Times Chinese argues: AI-powered creative storytelling does NOT always mean higher resolutions or more pixels, but narrative: the causal logic between plot points, unfolding in temporal order. That defines any time-based modality like drama and films.

Many great directors leave signatures in structure, such as flashback, parallel narrative, the craft of surprise upon the screen timing. Shakespeare stands behind The Lion King. Scheherazade behind Aladdin. Silicon Valley and Disney should remember their legacy.

My proposal in the next step: AI-assisted plot design. I am actually aiming low: at least, please, those TV drama writers, don’t let your protagonists appear and disappear suddenly and nonsensically!
