Cross-institutional Study Finds Artificial Mussels Able to Monitor Radioactivity in the Ocean

Description

The discharge of radioactive wastes into our ocean has attracted global concern. A cross-institutional study has unveiled a cheap and efficient device, "Artificial Mussels", designed to test for radionuclides in the ocean. This important advancement overcomes the existing difficulties and could be adopted as a practical solution for monitoring radioactive contamination around the world.

The cross-institutional study has been conducted by The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), in collaboration with the City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and The University of Hong Kong (HKU).
