Description
In this lecture, Professor Zeng will share several short/pleasant stories on the major scientific discoveries during his research career. These stories include (1) serendipitous discovery of the first metal (gold) cage molecule in nature, (2) incidental discovery of the first 2D ice in nature, (3) discovery of the first 1D ice nanotube by design, (4) producing the first molecular-dynamics movie of nano-gold catalysis, and (5) producing a molecular-dynamics movie showing “Lotus effect” at nanoscale. If time allows, he will briefly show 1-2 rising-stage/interesting research findings at CityU.
