Writing centre tutors, like all university staff in a student-facing role have a responsibility to prevent student plagiarism. The objective of this hands-on session is to enhance participants' skills for doing so, by providing a solid foundation of knowledge about these key questions related to plagiarism: • What is plagiarism? • Do we all mean the same thing when we say plagiarism? • Does culture play a role? • Are there differences across academic subjects? • Are today's Millenial students more likely to plagiarise?
