為慶祝香港城市大學三十周年校慶，本校成立「三十周年校慶籌備委員會」，由城大副監督梁乃鵬博士擔任主席，舉辦「城大三十周年校慶文化藝術節︰城大2014—藝術文化之年」，籌辦多項學術、文化和藝術活動。
是次「科學與藝術‧唐詩、宋詞、元曲——兩岸三地知名院士學者書法展」是其中一項慶祝活動，由香港城市大學主辦，並與中國工程院及中央研究院合辦，邀得兩岸三地知名院士學者參展。
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of City University of Hong Kong, the 30th Anniversary Organizing Committee chaired by Dr. Norman Leung, Prof-Chancellor of CityU, is formed to organize the CityU 30th Anniversary Cultural Festival: CityU 2014-Year of Art and Culture, with varieties of academic, cultural and art activities.
Science and Art: Chinese Calligraphy Exhibition by Renowned Academicians and Scholars is one of the festive events, which is organized by CityU, and co-organized by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Academia Sinica. Academicians and scholars from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China are invited to showcase their calligraphy works for this exhibition.
