Description
The aim of the talk is to present the current state of my PhD research in the area of immersive media aesthetics and design (VR/AR/MR). The project focuses on design approaches in immersive media content (i.a. skeuomorphism, photorealism, lens-based and CGI convergence) and in creative affordances and limitations of software ecology (i.a. game engines, middleware, frameworks) that makes a VR/AR experience possible. The research raises questions considering the technological conditions of possibility behind the wide-scale adoption of consumer-aimed immersive media and on the cultural and social impact of the latest generation of multi-purpose creative software
