Description

The ‘PIA at Frontiers’ conference is successfully held by the Department of Public and International Affairs yesterday, the conference aims at presenting remarkable work conducted by research teams & research centres within the PIA department. The conference featured two major themes: 1) Belt and Road Development (BRI) and Opportunities for Hong Kong, and 2) Rethinking Smart City and AI: Multi-Disciplinary Dialogues.

During the Seminar, Prof. Linda Li discussed the Opportunities and Challenges for Hong Kong under the Belt and Road Initiatives with Mr. Nicholas Kwan (Deputy Head of the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit), Ms. Janice Chew (Principal, JC Legal) and Centre Associate Dr. Jerry Zhang. The groups has explored the opportunities and considerations of Hong Kong business and professional services when participating in overseas BRI projects, a new investment and financing model for the BRI, the advantages for Hong Kong financial and legal service sectors, and myriad business opportunities available in a wide region along the BRI.
