**This activity was fully supported by a grant from the Research Grante Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China (Project No. CityU 11404614.I participated in the Professional Meeting "Is Video Art Dead? - New Formats and New Practices?" This is an annual professional meeting that takes place within the LOOP Barcelona annual video fair and festival. It is an open discussion by invitation based on professional credentials.
The meeting aims to discuss the validity of video art as a way of experimentation and reflection more than 50 years after its birth. In this sense: has video art lost interest? Is it still a form of experimentation? Is it still a thoughtful and a critical tool to think about contemporary society? Or will it be replaced by other kinds of technologies?
