International Symposium on Electronic Art 2017

ISEA is one of the most prominent international events on art and technology around the world, bringing together scholarly, artistic, and scientific domains in an interdisciplinary discussion and showcase of creative productions applying new technologies in electronic art, interactivity and digital media.

For the first time, ISEA will take place in a Latin America city: Manizales, in the frame of the 16th International Image Festival, a culture digital event, made by Universidad de Caldas since 1997. In his 15 editions, the Festival has positioned as an event with international relevance, and as an academic reference in design, art. science and technology.

ISEA2017 - 16th International Image Festival invites to reflect on the contributions that art, design, and technology provide as alternatives for social development, based on respect for natural biodiversity and having pacific coexistence of the communities.

ISEA2017 received submissions in three broad categories: Academic (Papers, Posters, Panels, and Roundtables), Creative (Artworks, Installations, Performances, and Design Cases) and Learning (Residence, Workshops, Tutorials, Artist or Designer talks, and Institutional Presentations).

ISEA2017 and 16th International Image Festival opened the joint Academic, Creative and Learning calls, inviting scientists, artists, designers and professionals to discuss design and creation issues. 586 proposals were received, presented by 1000 authors from 44 countries and finally 408 authors were selected.

Mixed media installation Silent Music Plane 1967 by Leung Chi Wo was selected for exhibition.
