Invited by the China Academy of Urban Planning & Design, I am the expert advisor to contribute to the national planning standard development work of "Standard for Urban Residential Area Planning and Design (GB 50180-2018) English version". The key contributions include reviewing international and national planning codes, providing professional judgment on code comparison, and improving the code's content in optimizing the Standard for sustainable residential living environment planning. It is the first time to publish the English version of the Standard for urban residential area planning and design (GB 50180) in China, which would be the basis to support professional practice, industry, and professional research.
