Description

it was an in-progress exhibition of the second year activities of the three-year research project "Ethno-Remedies: Bedtime Stories ⇄ A Life's Manual". The exhibition was a form of a large installation taking over the entire old Japanese style Machiya building including a courtyard garden and it included research documents, collected materials from the research, painted bee boxes, honey, plants, illustration books, and documentary video. The focus of the second year was to collaborate with a beekeeper family in Nara and learn their practice of beekeeping and working with bees and nature. Thus, the exhibition revolved around materials collected through working with them and artworks made for the beekeepers and their bees.
