DS TALK: 空间音频、360°影像与香港的视听艺术实践 Ambisonics, 360-Video and Audio-Visual Practice in Hong Kong

Audio-visual practice,as an extension of what may be referred to as sound practice,can be located on the peripheries of more established art forms in Hong Kong similarly to many parts of the world.As a basis for investigating the creative and theoretical possibilities of audio-visual practice enabled and shaped by the local conditions in Hong Kong,this talk considers different frameworks in which my own artistic output may be described and how it may be situated in the growing scene of soound practice.The use of visual media which extends beyond the traditional rectangular screen is one feature found in audio-visual practice and may be considered as a strategy for surviving in the local scene, as well as a result of the confluence with other art forms.Through the introduction of immersive audio-visual works by the author and concepts including superfield and ultrafield,ambient cinema,360-video and audition,slow cinema and soundscape,sound in media art and sensory ethnography,this talk discusses the artistic possibilities of Ambisonics and 360-video,the forms they enable,and how they in turn inform sound practice embedded within the current context of Hong Kong.
