Description

Concept design and is produced by D(ACIM), CityU and National Palace Museum (NPM) in Taipei collaborated again to organize the “Giuseppe Castiglione – Lang Shining New Media Art Exhibition” from 26 April to 25 August 2016 on campus. The exhibition has merged technology into creativity and art itself by digital tools, which highlights the value of the Italian Jesuit Giuseppe Castiglione’s (1688–1766) artworks and their historical context, and by pioneering a modern presentation of historical paintings.

There are 28 duplicate copies of selected works by the artist, plus 13 new media pieces, nine of which have been specially produced by D(ACIM) and his team. In the exhibit “Explore Castiglione's Painted Flora and Fauna” which was toured to Taipei and Italy, viewers explore two virtual landscapes created in the style of Castiglione by moving a TV screen along rails mounted on a wall. The exhibition has received up to 45,298 visitors from home and abroad during 26 April to 31 July 2016.
