It is the First Biennial Conference of the Asian Association for Environmental History, organised by the International Consortium for Earth and Development Sciences (ICEDS), Kagawa University, the Asian Association for Environmental History (AAEH) and the Environmental History Network in Japan. The Conference’s general title is taken from Altered Earth: Getting the Anthropocene Right (Cambridge University Press, 2022), edited by Julia Adeney Thomas.
