Engaged on a voluntary basis, art advisors assist chairmen of various artform groups of the ADC to plan, execute and advocate for services that meet the needs of their respective arts sectors, as well as providing professional advice and support to the work of the ADC in general. The convention requires nomination of an advisor to be made by an artform chairman and the appointment to be reviewed and endorsed in the Council meeting.
